Yanzi aka the "cosmic lion" is a Brazilian artist from Broward County, Florida. This artist's main inspiration is Gorillaz, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, and Kid Cudi. He specializes in psychedelic hip hop and produces and engineers most of his music. Artists such as Neme$1$, Jessica Morale, and Free WXRLD have worked with him. The song "YANTRA2020" is off of his album "YANTRA". This is a 5-minute banger with an awesome beat switch. I enjoyed the beat switch and the awesome synths and the way the synths were filtered was done well. There was a lot of modification to the vocals which was done well and was not annoying. The vocal techniques he did helped emphasize with a lot of points he was trying to make in the song. An example would be the "I feel the emotion flowing like an ocean" line in the song. The melodies toward the end are reversed and I enjoyed that about the second part. The second part was more intense, and I compared it in my reaction to the STARGAZING song by Travi$ Scott. Overall this song makes me wanna listen to more of Yanzi and it showcases that he can make long songs great, which not many new hip hop artists can do.
